Sport Ireland is pleased to invite you to the joint launch of the Children’s Sport Participation and Physical Activity Study (CSPPA 2022) and the Irish Sports Monitor (ISM 2022) on Wednesday, August 30th at the Sport Ireland Campus Conference Centre. On hand to launch these reports will be Minister of State for Sport and Physical Education, Thomas Byrne, TD and CEO of Sport Ireland, Dr. Úna May.

Commissioned by Sport Ireland, Sport Northern Ireland and Healthy Ireland, the CSPPA 2022 study is an All-Island project that surveyed over 8,500 children aged 10 to 19 years. It will provide the public and policy makers with valuable insights into the current state of children’s sport participation and physical activity behaviours on the Island of Ireland.

The Irish Sports Monitor is one of the world’s longest established national surveys of adult sports participation and physical activity, involving a largescale random sample of people over the age of 16 in Ireland. The ISM 2022 report explores current trends not only in adult sports participation, but also recreational activities like walking and volunteering in sport along with important social factors such as disability, inclusion and the rapidly changing landscape experienced by Women In Sport. Importantly, this latest ISM report will provide the first clear picture of the post-pandemic recovery within the Irish sports sector.
